The outdoor exhibit of the Independence Hall of Korea is
divided into four parts. First, there is The House of Korean
people displaying symbolic sculptures, heroic epics of ancestors,
and monuments of analects. There is also The Wishing Mound of
Korean unification where people can come and pray for the peaceful
reunification in the Korean peninsula. The third part is the
Memorial Site to commemorate ancestors who scarified their lives
for their country. The souls of brave ancestors are there to
keep on eternal vigil and ensure Korea's ongoing freedom and
prosperity. The last part is Exhibition Park where the Joseon
viceroy department was removed and rebuilt. During the colonial
period, the Japanese government built the Joseon viceroy to
destroy the invincible Korean spirit. The Korean government
pulled down the viceroy, the symbol of historical humiliation
and disgrace, and reconstructed some parts of the building to
remind Korean people of hard-earn lessons.
